The Private Transport Operators Association of Ghana is reported to have announced an increment in trotro fares by 30% effective 21st December 2022. The Union cites increased operational cost as the grounds for the upward review. It claims the parent organization GPRTU, of which it is an affiliate of, has been notified of the new fares.
If implemented, it would be the third trotro fare increase this year.
